The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has announced $30 million in Natural Climate Solutions grants available to local governments and nonprofits.

Eligible projects include living shorelines, tidal marsh restoration, reforestation, and urban forestry initiatives. Grants range from $250,000 to $5 million, with applications accepted on a rolling basis for one year starting August 4, 2025, through NJDEP’s online portal.

Municipalities are encouraged to apply early, as awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more on the NJDEP Natural Climate Solutions Grant page
