The Division of Local Government Services' (DLGS) 2025 fall exams for Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO), Certified Tax Collector (CTC), and Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) have been rescheduled for November 17, 2025, at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Instead of holding all three exams in Trenton, as in years past, the exams will be held the day prior to the start of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities 110th Annual Conference beginning on November 18, 2025.
The new application deadline for the exams is October 18, 2025. The application deadline is set by statute and requires the application to be received by DLGS 30 calendar days before the examination. Applications must be either postmarked by the United States Postal Service, in the custody of a delivery service company that provides tracking or emailed to DLGS.Certification@dca.nj.gov by 11:59 p.m. on October 18. Emailed applications must be followed by a hard copy application and the application fee. Applications received after the deadline will be reflected as late and held for the next exam. Dates printed by a postage machine are not accepted as proof of timeliness.
Exam acceptance letters will be sent to examinees approximately one week after the application deadline.
