On Monday, A-3537/S-2435 was favorably released from the Assembly Appropriations Committee and is scheduled for a hearing in the Assembly Budget Committee on Wednesday. A-3537 provides that an individual may be eligible for reimbursement from the Emergency Medical Technician Training Fund for the unreimbursed costs of training and certifying a volunteer EMT. The League supports this legislation because it addresses the ongoing issue of expansion and retention for Emergency Medical Technicians by removing a financial barrier to volunteerism.
