We most recently reported on the Congressional response to America’s opioid epidemic in our September 21 Issue Alert. Identical legislation has now passed both Houses. The bill, H.R.6, now awaits the President’s consideration.
In addition including regulatory changes meant to increase access to addiction treatments, the bill would authorize grants to municipalities and to state and local groups taking actions to address the opioid crisis, including provisions that aim to prevent the shipment of opioids into our country from abroad.
