The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the FY26 Brownfield Multipurpose Grant Program, providing $20 million in program funding for approximately 20 cooperative agreements. Municipalities can apply for up to $1 million to assess, clean up, and plan for the reuse of brownfield sites contaminated by hazardous substances or petroleum. Funds may also support community engagement and planning activities, but remediation is limited to sites owned by the applicant.
Applications are due by January 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with awards expected in spring 2026. For more details, applicants may contact brownfields@epa.gov or Program Officer, Elyse Salinas at 202-564-2858.
