Governor Murphy, Senate President Scutari, and Assembly Speaker Coughlin announced their support for moving the June 2025 Primary Election date due to religious holiday. It is reported that the June 2025 Primary Election Date will move from June 3 to June 10 due to the observance of the Jewish holiday of Shavuot.
On Monday the Senate State Government is considering a bill (S-3965) to reschedule the June 2025 primary election date to June 10, 2025. The bill also requires the Secretary of State to make all necessary adjustments to all deadlines required to be met ahead of the Primary Election and publish a calendar with the adjusted dates. At this time, there is no Assembly companion bill.
