As a reminder, the new provisions of the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) will take effect on September 3.
On August 28 the League is holding a webinar “The Future of OPRA" from 10:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. This webinar will explore the changes as a result of the recent OPRA Reforms, P.L. 2024, c. 16, which is effective September 3, 2024. Frank F. Caruso, Executive Director, Government Records Council (GRC), will review the new exemptions, changes in custodial procedures and requirements, and significant changes to the GRC and its complaint process. The GRC will also address attendee questions posed during the presentation.
The GRC has posted job announcements for four staff attorneys and one Mediator Assistant/Staff Attorney. The closing date for the jobs is August 22.
