The League of Municipalities Educational Foundation invites you to its first League Conference-based event for local leaders and stakeholders, the Climate Resilience Breakfast, on November 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Room 301 of the Atlantic City Convention Center. This session is a networking opportunity as well as a forum to discuss how climate resilience informs the present and future for New Jersey’s municipalities.
As New Jersey’s municipalities face the growing impacts of climate change, from rising sea levels to more intense weather events, the importance of building resilience has never been more important. This gathering to discuss climate resilience will provide a platform for municipal leaders, planners, and environmental advocates to come together to share strategies and insights.
NJDEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourette is scheduled to speak with the gathered officials starting at 10:00 a.m. Commissioner LaTourette has been at the forefront of the State's environmental initiatives and will discuss the NJDEP's current initiatives aimed at tackling climate change, as well as strategies that municipalities can implement to enhance their resilience against the impacts of climate change.
The League of Municipalities Educational Foundation is committed to supporting local governments in their efforts to create sustainable and resilient communities.
