New Jersey’s Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act (NJCUMMA) decriminalizes medical marijuana, but what does that mean for the workplace? This seminar will dissect the interplay between NJCUMMA, the Federal Controlled Substances Act, the various federal and state laws prohibiting workplace discrimination against disabled individuals, and the various laws affecting drug policies. The panelists will also explain those laws and discuss what protections medical marijuana users do and do not have in the workplace, as well as the negotiability of drug testing issues in the context of collective bargaining. Also, we will touch on the current status of the laws pertaining to the recreational use of Marijuana and the differences between this and Medicinal Marijuana. This is a must attend seminar for Employers with questions about the NJCUMMA and existing labor protections.
