Adopt Resolution Supporting Local Land Use Authority  

The Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee advanced SCS-1408, which authorizes the conversion of certain office parks and retail centers to mixed-use developments. Please adopt the sample resolution affirming support for local land use decisions.

Treasury Testifies Before Senate Budget Committee on FY26 Budget 

On Tuesday, April 1, State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio and OLS Budget Officer Thomas Koenig testified before the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee on the FY2026 budget recommended allocation of $58.1 billion.

Governor Murphy Signs Retail Theft Penalty Legislation 

Governor Murphy signed A-4755/S-3587 establishing and upgrading certain crimes involving retail theft,  extending terms for repeat offenders, addresses gift card fraud, and requires the Attorney General to take actions to combat organized retail theft.

CDC Issues Stop Work Orders Due to Grant Cancellation  

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) canceled $11 billion in grant agreements across the country.

Adopt Resolution Supporting Municipal Bond Federal Tax Exemption   

Public reports indicate that the federal tax exemption on municipal bonds could be eliminated to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Please adopt the sample resolution in support of preserving the tax exemption for municipal bonds.
