Preliminary Draft State Plan Released
A preliminary draft of the State Development and Redevelopment Plan has been released and is now available for review. County meetings are set to begin in February and continue through April, initiating the cross-acceptance process.

Bill Requiring County PILOT Service Charge Amended
The Senate Community & Urban Affairs Committee amended and released S-3787, which requires the tax collector who obtains payment in lieu of taxes under “Long Term Tax Exemption Law” to transmit the county portion directly to county.

The Division of Local Government Services issued Local Finance Notice 2024-18, which explains the Workplace Accountability in Labor List (The WALL) and the new electronic system for submitting certified payrolls for Prevailing Wage projects.

New Jersey Gas Tax Rate Will Increase 2.6 Cents Effective January 1, 2025
The Department of the Treasury announced on Monday that New Jersey’s gas tax rate will increase by 2.6 cents per gallon beginning January 1, 2025. to support the State’s Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) program.

Governor Signs Bill Making Outdoor Dining Permanent
Just as the Covid-19 outdoor dining permissions were to expire, Governor Murphy signed S-3608/A-4866 into law making those permissions permanent. P.L. 2024, c. 95 took effect November 25 except certain provisions will become effective on May 30, 2025.
