Governor Signs Affordable Housing Bill Package

This week, Governor Murphy signed a package of affordable housing bills including A-4/S-50, which eliminates COAH and codifies the methodology used to determine municipal fair share obligations.

EMT Reimbursement Bill Passes Senate  

On Monday, March 18, S-2435, which revises the eligibility criteria for reimbursements from the Emergency Medical Technician Training Fund, passed the Senate.

Public comment deadline for the NJ Office of Emergency Management and the NJ Infrastructure Bank proposed Safeguarding Tomorrow Through Ongoing Risk Mitigation (STORM) Revolving Loan Program Intended Use and Project Proposal List is April 28, 2024.

Remaining Legislation for FY24 Budget 

On Friday, the House passed a spending package to fund the federal government in Fiscal Year 2024 through September 2024. At publication time, the Senate was set to vote on the remaining bills to avoid a midnight partial government shutdown tonight.

SCOTUS Clarifies When Public Officials Can Block Social Media Users 

The U.S. Supreme Court issued two decisions last week bringing clarity to how public officials can use social media. Specifically, when a public official can block someone and when they can delete their comments.

Senators Menendez and Booker Announces Opening of Congressionally Directed Spending Application Process

Senators Bob Menendez and Corey Booker have announced the Fiscal Year 2025 Congressionally Directed Spending application process is open.?The deadline to submit applications to is April 8, 2024.
