League Seeking Information on MS4 Permit Compliance

The League is asking our members to answer a short survey aimed at gathering information related to individual municipalities efforts to comply with the NJDEP’s new MS4 permit program requirements.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) recently reassigned all municipalities to the Tier A designation under the MS4 Permit Program. At the same time, the NJDEP amended the Tier A permit to include a number of additional permit conditions that municipalities must now comply with. Compliance with these new requirements will come at a substantial cost for many municipalities.

To assist with of our continued advocacy, the League is asking our members to respond to a short survey regarding their individual municipal efforts to comply with the recently updated MS4 Permit Program. The information gathered will be used to assist the League in obtaining additional funding for municipal compliance with new and expanded permit conditions, and with any possible challenge to these requirements as an unfunded mandate.
