Audit of State Health Benefits Program Legislation Signed

On August 10, Governor Murphy signed into law A-4228 which requires the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) and School Employee Health Benefits Program (SEHBP) to establish and contract for Medicare Primary Assignment and Audit Program. The League supports this Legislation. The continuous review is to ensure that all participating employees and their dependents, who are eligible for Medicare, are properly enrolled in Medicare. Medicare must be the primary health care provider, with SHBP or SEHBP as the secondary health care provider. P.L. 2018, c. 88 took effect immediately.
