Senate Bill 5310 was introduced on January 29, to exempt Municipalities from limits on one-day social affair permits. These one-day social permits allow for a temporary permit to be issued by the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) that authorizes the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on a designated premise.

Current law states that only 25 one-day social affair permits can be issued a year per civic, religious, educational, or veteran organization. The limit of 25 permits per applicant would still apply to all non-municipal owned organization. Any one-day permit issued by the ABC will be $100. Any other permit issued will not be less than $10 and not more than $2,000.
New Jersey’s Municipalities fully support S-5310 and thank the sponsor for their continued support and assistance for our state’s local governments.
