The League’s federal partner, the National League of Cities, in partnership with Brookings Metro and the National Association of Counties, have created a Local Government ARPA Investment Tracker. This online resource compiles information from local governments to offer a detailed picture of how large cities and counties with populations of at least 250,000 are deploying the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund dollars.
The Local Government ARPA Investment Tracker is a useful tool for municipalities to glean how other government units are spending their ARPA funds. For example, New Jersey counties are using the funds to improve broadband connectivity and cybersecurity; HVAC replacement in a government building; stormwater management; recreational opportunities for the intellectually disabled; creation of a small business grant program; creation of a distressed site inventory to facilitate downtown rehabilitation; and solar panel installation.
