Historically, the Local Government Ethics Law was designed to guide local government officials and employees to ethical conduct in their positions.  There are, however, other statutes that act as boundaries for ethical conduct within government.  The purpose of this seminar will be to review the Local Government Ethics law and recent applicable case law with local government officials and employees and municipal attorneys.

Further, the seminar will discuss relevant “ethics” statutes such as the Law Against Discrimination (LAD); Whistle Blower laws, Criminal “Ethics” laws and some personnel policy laws.  This seminar will give the local government official a broader overview of relevant laws in order to create and maintain an ethical environment.
