This Budget Summit will focus on the prospects for meaningful municipal property tax relief in the State’s next budget. It will occur just one week after the Legislature receives the crucial revised revenue estimates and spending adjustments.
As the Governor hopes to have the budget done by June 15, our May 20 summit will be our last chance to have a collective impact on the process. It will, also, likely be our last chance to hear from, and to question, some of the key policy makers, as they enter the last three weeks of work on the State’s next spending plan. We are very grateful to our panelists - State Treasurer David Rousseau, DCA Commissioner Joe Doria, Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee Chair Barbara Buono, Assembly Budget Committee Chair Lou Greenwald, Senate Republican Budget Officer Leonard Lance and Assembly Republican Budget Officer Joe Malone. Only the Governor, himself, his Chief of Staff, the Assembly Speaker and the Senate President will have as much to say about the budget, as these key decision makers.
Jim Hooker, Statehouse Correspondent for NJN Television, will moderate our panel of key state policy-makers and veteran mayors.
If it is at all possible for you to attend, we urge you not to miss this unique opportunity
