Governor Jon S. Corzine will join League President, Mayor Tim McDonough of Hope Township, and League Executive Board Member, Mayor Randy Brown of Evesham, the Chairman of our 2010 Census Awareness Committee, to welcome officials from the U.S. Census Bureau to Trenton.

Your coverage of this event will help to elevate public awareness on the importance of the 2010 census. We will emphasize employment opportunities, federal and local funding implications and the importance of getting mayors, municipal governing body members, citizens and civic leaders engaged in the process.

Through Mayor Brown’s Committee, the League is doing all it can to make sure New Jersey is accurately counted. The fairness of Congressional redistricting, federal funding opportunities and State legislative districting are all dependent on the success of this effort.
