On Thursday, November 19, 2015, New Jersey’s mayors elected Honorable Joseph Tempesta, Jr. Mayor of West Caldwell, President of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities. Mayor Albert Kelly of Bridgeton was elected to the position of First Vice President, Mayor James Cassella of East Rutherford and Mayor Colleen Mahr of Fanwood were elected to serve as Second and Third Vice Presidents respectively. Their terms will run through November 17, 2016.
In addition, four new members were elected to the League of Municipalities Executive Board. They include Sean Elwell, Mayor, Elsinboro; Raymond Heck, Mayor, Millstone; Edward Mahaney, Mayor, Cape May City; Sylvia Petillo, Mayor, Hopatcong.
These public servants will help lead the association that represents New Jersey’s 565 municipal governments. They will represent the interests and needs of New Jersey’s local elected officials to county, state and federal governments.
