Electronic Ordinance Library
& Consultation Service
Sample ordinances can be searched by category or municipality. These items are copies of ordinances adopted by municipalities and should to be used merely as a guide in drafting your own regulations. They do not necessarily carry the League's endorsement and we cannot attest to their legality.
Ordinances are in Adobe Reader (PDF) format. If you do not have this software installed on your computer, you may download a free copy at http://www.adobe.com (clicking link will open a new window).
If you cannot find a sample ordinance on the topic that you are researching, click here to request further assistance. If you would like to discuss the details of an ordinance, please contact our Staff Attorney at (609) 695-3481 extension 137, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. *Please note that the intention of this service is to provide a helpful consultation and not legal advice.
Volunteer Background Checks
There is a new process that has been put in place by the New Jersey State Police, Bureau of Investigation (SBI) that modifies the procedure for volunteer youth organizations to obtain background checks on volunteers and employees. Those municipalities that require such checks for youth organizations should be aware of this new method for obtaining such checks.
