FROM THE PRESIDENT
By Peter Cantu, Mayor, Plainsboro
The 90th Annual League Conference
is next month, and as president I would like to provide
some important reminders to municipal attendees.
Mayors should be sure to schedule
time to attend the League's Annual Business meeting to be
held Friday, November 18 at 8:30 a.m. in the Sheraton Pearl
Ballroom. Your attendance is critically important to carrying
out the business of the League. The complimentary lunch
for delegates in the exhibit hall has been moved to Thursday
at 11:30 am. It is limited to the first 500 delegates to
pick up coupons in the 2400 aisle lounge.
Local officials should make
sure to visit the consulting period on Thursday at 2:00
p.m. in Hall A. Experts will provide up-to-date information
on over 100 topics relevant to municipal administration.
Get one-on-one consultation for new and useful information
to help your municipality.
Finally, visit the exhibit
floor and attend some of the many important education sessions.
You may be able to find that much needed piece of equipment,
product or service for your community from over 750 business
vendors. Hundreds of League and affiliate group education
clinics provide local officials with up-to-date information
and answers to questions on key municipal topics. Get
more of the latest conference details
at www.njslom.org.
Again, make the most of this
year's conference by finding time for these important events.
I look forward to seeing you in November. See more reminders
inside this issue.
