Highland Park Mayor Meryl Frank, Co-Chair of the League’s Committee for a Green Future attended the press event and noted that over 80 New Jersey municipalities have adopted a Greenhouse Gas reduction target, and nearly 100 municipalities are members of the League’s new Mayors’ Committee for a Green Future.
The League’s Committee has not had a chance to fully review the final Energy Master Plan. But from what we have seen, we can support its purpose and general direction. In general, we want to see more bold and aggressive action from State Government, not less. In particular, we will be looking to see how the plan supports local governments that are struggling to deal with energy issues.
The Committee will engage in an extensive review of the plan and will report back to the League membership.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr. Executive Director
