Re:

Important Conference Session THE NEW NEIGHBORS

Dear Mayor:

As you know, we have already sent eight letters high lighting sessions related to particular themes. Today, we want to give special mention to an extraordinary session, unlike any we have sponsored before. In fact, this session is so unique, and the anticipated interest is so strong, that we have slotted this session into our conference schedule twice.

On Wednesday, November 19, at 9:00 a.m., in Room 311, we will proudly screen the 30 minute documentary film, “The New Neighbors: How One Town Created a Vibrant, Integrated Suburb.” Following the film, which documents the unlikely partnership of two citizens, as they lead Pennsauken to community-wide dialogues about race and housing, there will be an open discussion of the presentation and the issues it addresses.

Because of seating limitations, this session will be repeated at 2:00 p.m., again in Room 311.

Pennsauken Mayor Jack Killion will preside at both screenings. And Speakers will include Barbara Heisler Williams, Executive Director of the Fund for an OPEN Society; Andrea Torrice of Torrice Productions; and Pennsauken Committeeperson Rick Taylor.

For more information on this, and other, sessions, visit the League’s website at www.njslom.com.

                                                                        Very truly yours,

                                                                        William G. Dressel, Jr.

                                 Executive Director
