Dear Mayor:

I’m writing to ask for your help. We have two opportunities at our upcoming NJLM Conference at the Atlantic City Convention Center to make a real difference to help ease the life-threatening blood shortage in our state.

Give Now – Get $10 Worth of Gasoline
One of the state’s blood centers, The Community Blood Council of New Jersey, is holding a blood drive in the exhibit hall from 9 am-3pm each day, November 16, 17 and 18. Their bloodmobile is in Booths 357-361, and they have a specially designated Donor Room at the front of Aisle100. Registered delegates who donate at the Conference will get a $10 Shell gasoline gift certificate – and will be eligible for prize drawings.

DONATE BLOOD AT OUR BLOOD DRIVE!
Be a Hero – Help Save Someone’s Life!

Give Later – Make YOUR Community Part of the Solution
I’m chairing a workshop at the NJLM Conference on Tuesday afternoon, November 16 th at 3:45pm in Room 318 to address how we can help ease the chronic blood shortage in our state. As you may be aware, only 2-3 percent of New Jersey’s population donates blood. As a result, New Jersey has to import about 150,000 units of blood each year to make up to shortfall. We need to do better to meet our own needs.

We’re asking for your support at both the presentation and the blood drive. We’d like you to donate the gift of life. Please encourage your staff members to donate, too.

It’s Easy to Sign Up Just go to www.njslom.org, go to the “NJ Blood Giving Information” section in the left-hand column, then click on “Donate at Our Blood Drive” to sign up to donate blood at the League’s Conference in November. If you have any questions about this, please contact Sue Robbins at The Community Blood Council of New Jersey at (609) 883-9750; srobbins@communitybloodcouncil.org.

Please join us and help ease New Jersey’s chronic blood shortage.

Regards,
