Important Conference Sessions FOCUS ON FINANCE
This is our fifth letter high lighting sessions related to a particular theme. And today’s theme focuses, as do so many of you, on local government finance.
Let’s start on Tuesday, November 18 at 2:00 P.M. with a workshop, jointly sponsored by your League, the Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association and the Government Finance Officers Association, entitled “Budget and Audit Hurdles – Understanding the Process,” in Room 202. Then, at 3:45 in Room 415, we’ve joined with the Governmental Purchasing Association for “Current Bidding Issues in Public Contracting.”
On Wednesday morning, November 19, at 9:00, join us and the Municipal Management Association for “Multi-Year and Long Range Financial Planning,” in Room 320. At 10:45, there’s a session that is also part of the Arthur J. Holland Program on Ethics in Government. Come to Rooms 408/409 for “Office of the State Comptroller – Accountability, Transparency and Efficiency.” After lunch, head to Room 319, for a major part of our special session for Newly Elected, Re-Elected or Experienced Mayors and Council Members, covering “Orientation on Budget, Procurement and Ethics in Purchasing Issues.”
And, on Thursday, November 20, at 9:00 A.M. in Room 302, join us for “Purchasing Update,” co-sponsored by the Tax Collectors and Treasurers, the Government Finance Officers and the Purchasing Association.”
For more information on these, and other, sessions, visit the League’s website at www.njslom.com.
Very truly yours,
