Important Conference Information ALL NEW CONSULTING SESSION NEW DAY. NEW TIME.
As you continue to prepare for the League’s Annual Conference, we want to alert you to a major scheduling change we’ve planned. In the past, our Consulting Period has been held at the same time as our Thursday Afternoon Sessions. As we’ve beefed up our seminar programming, this created a conflict for some. In response to this situation, our 2008 Conference Consulting Period has been scheduled for:
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2008
12 NOON UNTIL 2:00 P.M.
NEW ATLANTIC CITY CONVENTION CENTER
At our Consulting Period, you can sit down, one-on-one, at a table with an expert from any one of nearly 100 state, federal and quasi-governmental departments, divisions, bureaus and agencies. Whether you need an answer or additional information from the State’s Department of Personnel, Transportation, Community Affairs or Environmental Protection - or one of less frequently contacted agencies like the New Jersey Youth Corps, the Office of Cable Television, the U.S. Census Bureau or the New Jersey State Police Office of Emergency Management - you can explain your town’s problem and get expert and specific help, without having to schedule an appointment, without having to play an extended round of ‘telephone tag,’ and without waiting (and possibly missing) a return phone call.
And, given the noon hour, you can purchase lunch right there at a concession stand in Hall A during the consulting session.
For years, local officials have been taking advantage of the League’s Consulting Period to deal with issues – big and small – that they face daily in the public’s service. We have rescheduled this session in the hopes that more of you can take advantage of this truly unique opportunity.
We hope you will be able to take advantage of this once-a-year, one-of-a-kind opportunity.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
