Re: A Short History of the New Jersey Property Tax and the Long Road to Reform
The League has prepared a special report on the state and history of the property tax in New Jersey. Topics covered include alternative local taxes, mandates relief and property tax reform. I invite you to share this brochure with others in your administration.
We are hopeful that this overview of the situation will help you to better participate in the debate over this critical issue. As you are well aware, rising property taxes are a major factor in driving people away from New Jersey. The time has come to lower these regressive taxes with the help of state officials.
Again, thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with the history of the debate and the steps your League is currently taking to bring about property tax reform.
This report is also posted on the League’s website (click here). For a fee additional copies can be reprinted by contacting Eric Bielawski at White Eagle Printing at: firstname.lastname@example.org or (609) 586-2032 ext. 12.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
