Re: Terrorism Awareness and Prevention Auto-Run CD

Dear Mayor:

In an effort to better serve our communities, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness has developed a Terrorism Awareness and Prevention auto-run CD.  The CD, which was developed in both English and Spanish, is designed to raise the public awareness level concerning signs of terrorism and terrorist activity and is a useful tool for educating government employees. The training describes suspicious behavior for activity that may be related to a terrorist event and will enable government agencies and the public to act as eyes and ears in order to help prevent such an event.  This information is also helpful in identifying suspicious behavior for routine crimes.

The Terrorism Awareness and Prevention CD contains an instructor guide that may be used by a local presenter to provide additional details on the topic.  Participant handouts relevant to “The Seven Signs of Terrorism” are printable from the disk.

The Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will mail copies of the CD to you.  Please allow your municipal employees to review the program.

If you should have any questions or need additional information regarding the program please contact the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness Training Bureau at or by calling (609) 584-4000.

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
