Re:  League Co-Sponsors Mayors Clean Communities Council Conference

Dear Mayor:

The New Jersey Clean Communities Council is hosting the 6th Annual Clean Communities Seminar & Awards Banquet, May 19-21, 2009 in Newark.  As part of the conference, NJLM is hosting a panel discussion on May 20, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Crystal Room of the Robert Treat Hotel. The topic is to be green you have to be clean!

Panelists confirmed are Mayors James Anzaldi, Clifton; A. Christian Bollwage; Elizabeth; Robert L. Bowser, East Orange; and Wayne Smith, Irvington.  We are delighted that NJLM president Mayor Timothy McDonough will preside. The panel discussion will follow remarks by County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and Mayor Cory A. Booker.

As you are aware, New Jersey Clean Communities is New Jersey’s only statewide comprehensive litter abatement program with 559 towns and 21 counties receiving grant funds totally about $18 million every year.

We hope you will plan to join us at the Robert Treat Hotel.  It is an excellent opportunity to learn more about New Jersey Clean Communities and ask important questions about the use of funds in your town.  There is no charge for mayors associated with the NJ State League of Municipalities to attend.

Please confirm your attendance by contacting the Clean Communities Council at njclean@comcast.net, or 609-989-5900.

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
