Re: Reminder: Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Funded by Wal-Mart
In an effort to promote sustainability and public/private partnerships, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the New Jersey League of Municipalities Education Foundation, and the NJLM Mayors’ Committee for a Green Future (MCGF) have established the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program. The grants are intended to support New Jersey municipalities participating in the Sustainable Jersey Certification Program to institute greening and sustainability initiatives within their communities and better the quality of life for their residents.
Applications are due on May 7, 2009. The full application package may be downloaded at www.sustainablejersey.com.
Wal-Mart has provided $200,000 fund the grants program for New Jersey municipalities. The program will award ten (10) $10,000 grants and four (4) $25,000 grants. To be eligible municipalities must first register with Sustainable Jersey.
Please note, to be eligible for these grants your municipality must be registered with Sustainable Jersey. Registration does not commit a municipality to anything, but is the first step in the process to becoming Sustainable Jersey Certified.
