Re: Webcast to Focus on Energy Block Grant, Economic Recovery
We have been advised by Carolyn Berndt, of the National League of Cities (NLC), that NLC TV, NLC's Internet TV channel, will hold a webcast, Implementation of the Economic Recovery Act: The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant, on Tuesday, April 14, from noon to 1 p.m. EDT.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes $3.2 billion in funding for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program. This new program provides federal grants to municipalities, counties and states for innovative practices designed to achieve greater energy efficiency and lower energy usage.
With local governments leading innovation in the country in the areas of energy conservation and environmental protection, these grant resources will be an important tool in the furtherance of those efforts. Municipal officials will learn up-to-date information on applying for these funds and key steps that can be taken to prepare for their use.
Speakers for the interactive webcast include NLC President Kathleen Novak, Mayor, Northglenn, Colo.; Carolyn Berndt, NLC Senior Legislative Counsel; and Gil Sperling, Program Manager, Department of Energy Office of Weatherization and Intergovernmental Programs.
The webcast will be available live and fully archived for later viewing by April 15 at noon EDT at the Economic Recovery Webcast event site, located at www.NLCTV.org.
Participants should pre-register at www.NLCTV.org and have the free Windows Media Player installed prior to the event so they can test their set up before the webcast. Technical questions can be directed to (814) 653-2760 and (703) 961-9250, ext 232 before, during and after the event, or emailed to email@example.com. Online participants may submit email questions during the webcast at the link provided on the webcast event page at www.NLCTV.org.
Very truly yours,
