RE:NEW LEAGUE SERVICE– Recruitment and Selection Advisory Service Launched
Hiring a new manager or administrator can be a difficult and daunting task for a municipality. The League, in conjunction with the New Jersey Municipal Management Association (NJMMA), have launched a new advisory service to provide guidance to municipalities in their recruitment and selection process. This new service provides reference materials and tips on the hiring process, and offers the availability of a retired municipal Administrator or Manager to meet with elected officials to discuss the overall recruitment process and answer questions that local officials may have about the best practices to be followed.
Please note: The purpose of this service is not to become directly involved in the recruitment process; rather it is to offer guidance on the best methods to be used by local officials to accomplish their recruitment goals and to avoid some of the many pitfalls that can occur during the transition period between Administrators/Managers in a municipality.
