Dear Mayor/Partner
in Homeland Security:
We are happy
to invite you or your representatives to join United States
Senator Frank Lautenberg at his Homeland Security Grant
Seminar, which will be held on March 29, 2004 at Monmouth
University in Long Branch. The Seminar will take place from
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the University's Pollak Theatre. (See
directions on reverse side).
As you know,
we all are faced with the tough task of not only identifying
what Homeland Security/Law and Public Safety funding opportunities
exist, but also how to go about securing those dollars.
Since returning to the Senate, Senator Lautenberg has been
a leading voice calling for Homeland Security funds to go
to areas that need it most.
Now, to help
achieve that goal, Senator Lautenberg has arranged for a
representative from the Department Homeland Security to
speak with us about how to ensure our municipalities and
counties have the necessary tools to successfully compete
for federal Homeland Security funds. In addition, we will
receive a report from the NJ League of Municipalities Homeland
Security Task Force, and also speak with Senator Lautenberg.
Due to limited
space, you must RSVP by Monday, March 22nd. To
RSVP, please complete the attached
form and fax it to (973) 639-8723, or email "frl_events@lautenberg.senate.gov".
In your email, please be sure to include the names, titles
and phone numbers of those attending. Because of space limitations,
registration is limited to two people per municipality.
If you wish to send more staff, please indicate so on your
fax or email, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Please feel free
to contact John Bang or John Fuller of Senator Lautenberg's
Newark Staff with any questions at (973) 639-8700.
We look forward
to seeing you on March 29th!
