CMPTRA Funding Committee
As you know from our correspondence of February 26, over 300 municipalities will lose substantial CMPTRA funding in the Governor’s proposed budget.
The Department of Community Affairs has advised us that they will be providing a full certification and calculation next week, including respective population numbers, by their GovConnect system. In the meanwhile, you can review the population data on the Department of Labor’s Workforce Development page located at:
We are in the process of scheduling meetings with the Administration on the proposed budget and the reductions in municipal property tax relief funding.
The League believes it is most important for us to communicate directly and quickly with the communities who are at risk of losing a significant portion, if not all, of this important property tax relief funding.
If you are a municipality with a population fewer than 10,000 please appoint a primary point of contact for your community, and ask that person to send an email to us at: NJLeague@njslom.com. We ask that these primary contacts identify themselves by name, title and municipality. From this emails we will compile an email distribution list, which will be our primary means of communicating with you on this issue over the course of the next fourth months.
Questions on this correspondence can be directed to Mike Cerra at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (609) 695-3481 x120.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
