Dear Mayor:

The NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has finalized the application and guidance document for the 2009 Brownfield Development Area (BDA) application round.  These documents can be accessed through the posted version of this letter on our website tomorrow.  (Application / Application Guidance)  The submittal deadline is March 31, 2009.  The DEP encourages those considering an application for BDA designation to contact the Office of Brownfield Remediation & Reuse at (609) 292-1251 and request a pre-application meeting with Bureau Chief Colleen Kokas.

Please note that the BDA web site does not yet include the new 2009 application & guidance.  The web site will be updated shortly.  Please use only the 2009 application when applying for BDA designation this year.

Additionally, the Impact to Ground Water Guidance on the Remediation Standards Guidance website has been updated.  This web site may be found at http://www.nj.gov/dep/srp/guidance/rs/.
