Re:

CleanPower Choice Program

Dear Mayor:

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) and the New Jersey Clean Energy Program have asked us to introduce you to the New Jersey CleanPower Choice (CPC) Program and CleanPower Choice Coalition.  The CPC Coalition is a statewide advocacy group comprised of environmental, business and municipal leaders that have pledged to support the economic and environmental benefits of the program and promote the overall concept of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

Mayor Meryl Frank of Highland Park, Chair of the League’s Mayors Committee for a Green Future, will be representing the League at this meeting to develop and ongoing relationship with the Coalition.  Further details on our Committee’s program will be forthcoming shortly.

Beginning in 2007, the Coalition will be launching a CleanPower Community Partnership Program. This program is geared toward increasing enrollments in the CleanPower Choice Program as well as educating the communities throughout New Jersey on what the program has to offer.

The Coalition would like to invite you to participate in their 'kick-off' meeting this Thursday, January 25, 2007 from 3:00PM- 5:00PM at the NJ Office of Clean Energy. This meeting is an opportunity to learn from the clean power marketers in New Jersey what strategies and tactics can be used to create a successful outreach campaign.

From this meeting, the Coalition is hoping to gain 6 to 12 strong supporters of the CleanPower Choice Program. New Jersey's Clean Energy Program is offering a portion of its paid media campaign to the strong advocates who sign on to enroll customers within their resident or constituent base in the CleanPower Choice Program. Clean power marketers will be on site at the meeting to discuss successful outreach methods that work to yield the greatest results in any given community.

If you have any questions about this meeting, please contact Erin Bijas on the Clean Energy Team at (201) 231-6029.

Very truly yours,

                                                                        William G. Dressel, Jr.
                                                                        Executive Director
