Re: Coastal Management Rules Hearing
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection invites you to participate in a public meeting regarding an upcoming rule proposal of the Coastal Zone Management rules. The purpose of the informal public meeting is to take verbal suggestions from the public. The informal meeting will be held on February 7, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in:
Public Hearing Room (First Floor)
New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection
401 East State Street
Trenton, New Jersey 08065
The Department is seeking suggestions from the public on the Coastal Zone Management rules, found at N.J.A.C. 7:7E, before the Department begins the administrative process to readopt these rules with amendments. This chapter presents the substantive rules of the Department regarding the use and development of coastal resources, to be used primarily by the Department’s Division of Land Use Regulation in reviewing permit applications under the Coastal Area Facility Review Act (CAFRA), Wetlands Act of 1970, Waterfront Development Law, Water Quality Certification and Federal Consistency Determinations. The rules also provide a basis for recommendations by the Division to the Tidelands Resource Council on applications for riparian grants, leases and licenses. The rules are due to expire on July 8, 2009.
Interested persons may choose to participate in the informal public meeting and/or submit written suggestions until March 3, 2008 to:
Ms. Patti Cluelow, Rule Manager
Department of Environmental Protection
Division Land Use Regulation
501 East State Street
P.O. Box 439
Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0439
The Department of Environmental Protection requests that any written suggestions be sent in on disk or CDs as well as on paper. The Department also prefers that submissions be in a Microsoft Word 6.0 or above format. MacIntosh formats should not be used.
If you have questions about this process, please contact the DEP at (609) 777-0454.
Very truly yours,
William. G. Dressel, Jr.
