Re: Comments sought on draft SADC Regulations
The State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) is seeking comments from municipal leaders on draft regulations that would establish an agricultural management practice – or standards -- for determining eligibility for right-to-farm protection for the on-farm generation of solar energy.
The SADC needs any comments you have on the draft regulations by October 8th. The SADC will consider all comments as it works to develop a formal rule proposal.
The League intends on submitting comments, and we encourage you to do the same. We would also appreciate it if you would send a copy of any comments to the League prior to October 8. The League would then incorporate them into our overall comments and offer the SADC a more comprehensive view.
The draft regulations are available on the SADC’s website at http://www.state.nj.us/agriculture/sadc/news/hottopics/index.html.
Please note that this draft proposal addresses standards for right-to-farm protection for solar energy generation on farms. The SADC will develop a separate rule proposal to address the requirements and application process for siting solar energy facilities on preserved farmland.
If you have any questions please contact Hope Gruzlovic at the State Agriculture Development Committee at (609) 984-2504 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please send any comments you wish incorporated into the League’s comments to Matthew Weng at email@example.com.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
