RE: Updated Personnel Policy Handbook
Dear Mayor:
Municipal governments all over the state face declining revenue, decreased aid, and a new 2% cap on property tax increases. This combined with the current economic climate forces mayors like you to try everything possible to save money.
Our Municipal Personnel Handbook can be a huge help. Personnel costs are often one of the biggest, if not the biggest, budget items in municipalities. The Handbook can help towns keep costs down with advice on preventing lawsuits, increasing efficiency, and more.
Matthew Weng, League Staff Attorney, updated the Handbook in February 2010. It is up to date with current law, and contains new information on Paid Family Leave and Furloughs.
You can find the order form for the Handbook, along with the full list of publications, on the League’s web site (www.njslom.org/Publications.html).
Questions should be addressed to Becky Wright at bwight@njslom.com or 609-695-3481 ext. 110.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
Executive Director
