Re: A Short History of the New Jersey Property Tax and the Long Road to Reform
The League has prepared a special report explaining why property taxes in New Jersey are so high! I invite you to share this brochure with others in your administration and with your taxpayers.
We are hopeful that this overview of the situation will help you to better participate in the debate over this critical issue. As you are well aware, rising property taxes are a major factor in driving people away from New Jersey. The time has come to lower these regressive taxes with the help of state officials.
Again, thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with the history of the debate and the steps your League is currently taking to bring about property tax reform. Further details on our advocacy efforts can be found on our home page (see Governor Christie Toolbox News).
This report is also posted on the League’s website: (click here for the report). You may want to link this report to your municipal website, to assist in sharing this information with you constituents. For a modest fee additional copies can be reprinted by contacting Eric Bielawski at White Eagle Printing at: email@example.com or (609) 586-2032 ext. 12.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
