RE: League Testifies on Cost Drivers before Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors
Dear Mayor:
At the invitation of the Chair of Governor Christie’s Council of Economic Advisors, the League presented testimony on municipal costs drivers at the Council’s second meeting, yesterday in Princeton.
The League testimony, which can be accessed at http://www.njslom.org/testimony/061410-Testimony-WGD-Council-of-Economics-JM.html, was presented by our Inter-local Municipal Cooperation and Management Advisory Service Coordinator, Gregory Fehrenbach, and our Labor Relations Counsel, Brian Kronick, Esq. Along with the testimony, we presented the Councilors with copies of our April 7 testimony on Privatization (which you can access at http://www.njslom.com/testimony/040710-privatization.html), our C.O.P.E. Report on Pensions and Benefits Reform (accessible through our Media Advisory at http://njslom.org/press-release-120109-pensions.html), and two reports on unfunded mandates that can be accessed from yesterday’s testimony.
Governor Christie addressed his Advisors just before the League presentation. He remained to hear our speakers, paying particular attention to the call for arbitration reform.
We will keep you posted on any information coming from the Council of Economic Advisors that may pertain to local government.
If you have any questions, contact Jon Moran at 609-695-3481, ext. 121.
Very truly yours,
William G. Dressel, Jr.
