RE: FY 2011 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program
The FY 2011 Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Unified Guidance application period is now open (http://www.fema.gov/government/grant/hma/index.shtm). Potential applicants for any of the four non-disaster FEMA Mitigation grants (FMA, PDM, RFC, or SRL) should begin to gather information and develop eGrants applications for their specific project(s). Beginning June 1, 2010, any pre-award costs incurred in the development of these applications, such as survey costs, employee hours and/or contractor costs, should be captured for reimbursement purposes. Please notify the NJOEM Mitigation office with your intent to apply, as this is a complex process that mandates some conversation between the applicant and the state.
The FY11 HMA guidance includes guidance for all five HMA programs, including the HMGP. In addition to the FY11 cycle of the four annual non-disaster programs, the guidance will also apply to all HMGP funds made available for disasters declared on or after June 1, 2010.
Review the Program Guidance on our website at http://www.njslom.org/Grants_NewsandInformation.html#FEMA2010 for eligibility requirements. Applicants that are new to the process should contact the NJOEM Mitigation office to obtain assistance in getting started with the eGrants system.
All applications must be submitted to NJOEM through the eGrants system by 4:00 PM on Friday, October 1st, 2010.
