Re:  Announcement of 2010 Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program

Dear Mayors:

Today, Sustainable Jersey announced that $220,000 will be available to municipalities through the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants program funded by Walmart.  The grants are intended to help local governments make progress toward a sustainable future in general, and specifically in the Sustainable Jersey certification.

The 2010 Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program will award:

• Ten (10) $10,000 grants
• Four (4) $25,000 grants
• Twenty (20) $1,000 grants 

In applying for a grant, each municipality must submit a proposal describing their local sustainability initiative and how it will relate to the Sustainable Jersey actions.

Time Line

• Grant Applications Due: July 1, 2010
