Re: FIRE AND EMS GRANT WORKSHOPS
Dear Mayor:

There are two different times: 10:00am or 7:00pm. The workshops will be held at the Middlesex County Fire Academy, 1001 Fire Academy Drive, Sayreville, NJ.
The workshops will be about 3 hours long, and will provide information on the grants available through the Assistance to Firefighters Programs. The AFG grants are available to Fire Departments and non-affiliated EMS Organizations and provide funding for vehicles, fire and EMS equipment, PPE and training.
The following will be covered during the workshops:
• An overview of the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) and
Fire Prevention grants
• Changes for the 2010 application process
• Grant writing tips & common errors
• Interactive practice and feedback on how to strengthen the narrative portion of the
application
These workshops will be presented by Dave Gronsbell, Fire Programs Specialist for Department of Homeland Security, FEMA Region II. There is no cost for the Workshop. Please RSVP with Kellie Drakeford, in the office of U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, so that they can properly prepare for each participant. Please attend the class of your choice at the designated time.
