Re: Briefing by Haitian Ambassador, Hon. Raymond Alcide Joseph on Haiti’s Devastating Earthquake

Highland Park Borough Council President, Elsie Foster-Dublin has asked me to forward information regarding a briefing by the Hon. Raymond Alcide Joseph, Haitian Ambassador to the United States scheduled for this Saturday, February 6, at 5 p.m. We appreciate the opportunity to forward this information onto you and the letter below provides more details and information on this.

Very truly yours,

William G. Dressel, Jr.,
Executive Director

Dear Mayors:

Like many communities throughout the United States, New Jersey municipalities are banding together to assist victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.

On Saturday, February 6, 2010, Haiti’s Ambassador to the United States, the Hon. Raymond Alcide Joseph will be visiting New Jersey. He will be the guest speaker at A Prayer Service of Healing and Hope for the People of Haiti at the Calvary-Roseville United Methodist Church in East Orange. (DIRECTIONS)

It is important that municipal leaders from around our State hear first-hand about the devastation in Haiti’s capital city, Port-au-Prince.

While the media has done a remarkable job in the extensive coverage of the earthquake, I know that Ambassador Joseph will be able to put the situation in Haiti perspective for us.

Please distribute the attached flyer to all municipalities as soon as possible so we can get the word out about this important event. Thanks in advance for your help.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Elsie Foster-Dublin
Borough Council President
