Re: September Preparedness Month – Message from NJSP-OEM
The New Jersey State Police Office of Emergency Management is partnering with FEMA
in a plan to support and advocate citizen preparedness during the month of September, National Preparedness Month. We ask that you review this promotion strategy with your appropriate professionals and access the resources available from NJSP-OEM as well as FEMA.
They have a three point plan, as follows....
1. For the first 10 days of September emphasize the concept of GET CONNECTED - AND MAKE A DISASTER SUPPLY KIT
2. For September 11 -20 emphasize HAVE A COMMUNICATIONS PLAN
3. For September 21-30 emphasize INCLUDE YOUR PET(S) IN YOUR EMERGENCY
There are 3 informational flyers available, each addressing one of the above concepts that you may use for outreach to your residents.
Feel free to post and distribute the informational flyers as the above time frame suggests.
The use of social media systems to send the information to residents electronically is also strongly advocated.
