RE: NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) Transformation Task Force Update Important Information on Sandy Spawned Federal Flood Insurance Claims
The information in this letter will be important to many of your residents whose homes were damaged by Superstorm Sandy, and who held National Flood Insurance coverage.
On May 18, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) opened the Hurricane Sandy Review Process and began to notify approximately 142,000 policyholders who submitted a Hurricane Sandy flood claim that they may request that their file be reviewed. Effective May 18, policyholders may call a toll-free telephone number (866-337-4262) or go online (www.fema.gov/sandyclaims) to download a form requesting a review, even before receiving the letter. Policyholders will have 90 days from receipt of the letter to make contact with FEMA.
Earlier today, FEMA provided us with an update on the process, which includes links to applications for a review, and detailed information on the program and the process. You can access that information on our website at http://www.njslom.org/documents/NFIP-factsheet-052015-ajb.pdf
FEMA includes much of this information on its website at www.fema.gov/sandyclaims.

Very truly yours,
