Re: Meeting Tonight on Off Shore Liquefied Natural Gas Facility and Pipeline Proposal
We are writing to advise you of a proposal to construct a deep water port 24.9 miles east of Long Branch New Jersey. This facility, named “Port Ambrose”, would be used to transport liquefied natural gas from specially fitted ships through a lateral pipeline located 13 miles from Sandy Hook New Jersey. This line would ultimately connect with the New York Transco Pipeline.
The application is currently pending before the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
Importantly, there is a public meeting to discuss this application tonight, January 8, 2015, which interested elected officials can attend. The meeting will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel located at 6 Industrial Way East, Eatontown, NJ 07724. The hotel’s telephone number is 732-542-6500. There is an open house before the formal public meeting from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
All comments are due by February 10, 2015.
