Re: Sustainable Jersey Announces Availability of $150,000 in Grants for Municipal Sustainable Energy Projects

Dear Mayor:

Sustainable Jersey announced today that it is accepting applications from New Jersey municipalities for sustainable energy projects focused on efficiency, renewable energy and related advanced energy infrastructure. Funded by the Gardinier Environmental Fund, $150,000 in grant money is now available from the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program. For this grant cycle, the Sustainable Jersey Small Grants Program is offering grants in two sizes: $35,000 and $10,000.

These grants will fund sustainable energy projects focused on conservation, efficiency, renewable energy, and/or related advanced energy infrastructure. Possible projects could include building efficiency upgrades, alternative vehicle fueling and charging stations, energy education projects that promote municipal energy efficiency programs, energy resiliency, solar energy installations, studies and engineering and your own innovative projects.

Proposals are being accepted through November 5, 2014. Visit the grants page on to submit a simple, online application.  Sustainable Jersey is now offering an online grant application which allows communities to collaborate on the grant proposal process.
